Last Saturday run before the 1/2 thon!

I'm still convinced I won't be able to finish that Santa Barbara 1/2 marathon next weekend.
WHAT was I thinking signing up for something like that?

I partied too much this summer and didn't stick with workouts, now I'm trying to prepare for 13! miles in two weeks.

My bright idea this weekend was to do 10-12 miles in the hills on Saturday. I made it 11.5 miles and hit every serious hill out there. Now I feel like someone beat me in the legs with a bat. Really smart!

Anyway, here's the start of it up Pistol with Chico looking over his domain.Across the flats at the top of the bluffs. I'm actually carrying water on this run, though I used it mainly for the doggies.

Getting to the top of Hanglider. It looks like the moon up there.

This memorial is at the top of Hanglider. I don't know David Freed. But I like to stand on the block and stretch my calves. Thanks, David!
The view looking west from the top of Hanglider.

This is around the front side of the bluffs. The cut in the top of the hill is where people dig for sharks teeth and other ancient bones from when this was at the bottom of the sea.
Lots of people had digs set up all over the hills on Saturday. Hope they wore breathing masks because this is also prime Valley Fever area and it's nice and dry so the spores can fly right up your nose.
Back across the flats at the top. This is looking northeast-ish.
This is coming up on the mesa loop looking east at Hanglider, where I just was!

Your pictures reminded me of our runs together! We must start that soon again! It was fun and painful and tiring and sweaty but fun! LOL!
