I had wanted to do 10 miles last Sunday, but we I had a weird quad cramp on a shorter run on Saturday and was afraid I'd really mess it up. So I waited and did 3 miles on Monday and it was OK.
But then I didn't run at all or Tuesday, Wednesday...um...or Thursday..
Then Friday, I had energy and did a 3 mile test run in the morning, 29 minutes...not too bad considering I wasn't straining at all and was fighting with the dogs the whole way.
I'm so dumb, though, I had a race that night! A 3 mile run downtown that a co-worker Shanghaied me into! Course, I ran it...and did 25:53, which is a pretty good time. But now my legs are killing me.
So I went out today and did 6.15 miles in 1.02 hours (one water stop for the dogs).
Average pace was 10.09 min. mile.
Best pace 6.57 min. mile (I had to get out of the way of a truck!).
Burned 729 calories. (According to my very cool wristband GPSer that my friend Olivia gave me.)
I'm not too worried about my speed. But I've GOT to get more mileage in! And I really need to drop the 10 POUNDS I gained over a summer of haphzard workouts and way too much beer drinking!
Sigh.
Oh, well, at least it was nice today. The high is supposed to only be in the 70s, so this morning it was very nice running weather. Here we are at the 3 mile mark, turning around and slogging back. Jack Jack is in the lead!
Pretty sky!
Oh, and look here, someone is building a bridge! This is the Allen Road extension across the "mighty" Kern River.
More bridge building...
After the run at Riverwalk (there IS NO RIVER!) park.
