Larry turned 50! Hey, had to happen sometime!

Larry shaved his long time beard and got a flat top for the occassion. He'd let himself get as shaggy as ZZ Top before the event, so I knew to look out for some drastic change.

But others weren't so forewarned.

When he walked into the house (Barb and Al graciously offered their place) Barb didn't recognize him. And other longtime friends actually introduced themselves to him.

I knew him right off the bat though.

Anyway, we all decided this was his Lt. Dan look.

The cake was a masterpiece. You can see here the model used for one portion. Oh, and it actually tasted good too!

Is it cake? Or is it cigars and an ashtray???
