Thanksgiving at the cabin

Frosty morning in the meadow!

Got to the cabin Monday afternoon and went for a run first thing Tuesday, just like I said I would.
My GPS was a little sketchy because of the trees and mountains and such so I don't think I got purely accurate distance/time readings but I guesstimate the first day was about 3.5 miles.

Then I did a hike to the store, about 1 and 3/4 miles roundtrip.

Wednesday I did a 3 mile hike.

Thursday I hiked Strawberry Peak which is about 4 miles round trip, plus a quick 1.5 mile dog walk.

Friday was overcast and really cold so we only did a small hike.

Saturday after it snowed a little Friday night, it was really windy but bright and sunny. Larry and I went to Dodge Ridge and hiked up the hill with the dogs.

Then I got home and did a 3 mile run on Monday. So I didn't completely slack off, but it was kind of hard to get much distance in with all the snow. Here's Dodge on Tuesday when I went to pick up my FIRST EVER ski pass!

And here's my pass plus a FREE TSHIRT!

Cute!
I bought Chico a sweater, which was too small to fasten under his belly. So he wore it like a cape. He was Count Chicula!

On a run down the old railway trail I came across some interesting fungus.

Mom tried to make it all the way up Strawberry Peak, but it's a hard uphill.

Here's Beardsly from the top.
The three chimneys.
Dodge Ridge in the distance.
See, here I am at the top!

Pretty.
Boxcar made it to the top too.
Thanksgiving Day dinner prep.
And now the clean up...ugh
A guy topping a really tall tree.
A little AFrame cabin was here forever. A new buyer wanted something bigger so he had it torn down and now it looks like it was never there.

Some construction by the Cabins at Strawberry to make a turnaround so Brian and Mary can sell them off individually. Guess they want out of the rental biz.
Snowing Friday night.
Seemed like it snowed more than THIS

The topped trees.
Dodge after the snow...they didn't get a lot, but it was cold and windy.

At the Donkey.
There's a snowman in the meadow who's kind of melted away.
