We arrived on Friday and it was lovely. That didn't last!

The morning of the race, I noticed a mannequin in the window of an apartment by our hotel.

I forgot totake a photo at the very start of the race, this is part way up a little hill right out of town.

Another view further up the hill. This historic Casino building was being worked on.

I took a TON of photos of Avalon from various hills.

See?

This is the start of the REAL hill. It went on for miles and miles.

Not kidding, it just kept going up.

Oh, look, more uphill...

This was somewhere near the top, carrion birds were waiting to pick off the weak and slow.

I was soooo looking forward to the top for the great views. Instead, I got fog. I can get that in BAKERSFIELD!

There's Avalon down there somewhere.

I ran with a husband and wife, two doctors, for a while. She was running BAREFOOT! With just these little feet gloves on!

Wrigley memorial.
There go my doctor pals headed for the finish line.

Here it comes! I finished in
2 hours 41 minutes and 14 seconds. About a minute after my doc pals, Nahiri and Daniel (I think!)
Sitting in a wine, dessert, sushi, pasta, candle bar later that afternoon, a rainbow busted out.

Then a full moon came out and showed off.

The next day was bright and sunny, so I went for a walk on the mountains on the other side of Avalon.

You can see the mountains on the mainland, covered in snow. That's 26 miles away!
